Webinar Overview:

The Joint Commission leadership standard 01.07.01 requires that the board, senior managers, and leaders of the medical staff have knowledge needed for their roles. This includes information on laws and regulations. This program is to help hospitals comply with this standard. Healthcare reform has resulted in a number of changes in federal laws. In fact, healthcare has not seen this much change since the implementation of the Medicare program.

This program will cover important federal laws that every hospital should be aware of. It will provide information on how to locate a copy of the law and the importance of updating policies and procedures to be compliant with the federal laws. Failure to follow a federal law can be introduced into the courtroom to show that the hospital breached the standard of care and to imply negligent.
